About
I’m a recent Master’s graduate with a background in both natural and human sciences. Currently, I work as a public school educator, private homeschool tutor, K-12 test prep and general education tutor, and afterschool theater and speech instructor. I’m deeply passionate about teaching and education!
I specialize in literacy skill development and foundational math but am comfortable teaching most K-12 subjects, including test prep (SAT, ISEE, ACT, etc.).
While most of my tutoring is online, I also offer house calls (after an initial consultation) and public meet-ups. My pricing is flexible, so feel free to reach out and chat—I’d love to work with you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to chat with my students first to get to know their individual personalities, likes, and dislikes. This helps me tailor my curriculum approach to match each student's unique needs and interests.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my M.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Natural Sciences and Human Sciences from Texas Tech in July 2023. My bachelor’s degree is in Multidisciplinary Studies, with concentrations in Geology, Geography and Sustainability, and Environmental Science, with a specific focus on Earth Science and Paleoecology. I also have graduate-level experience in Sustainable Design Studies from the Boston Architectural College and hold certifications in Environmental Science/Ecology from the University of Leicester, Emory University, and the University of Queensland. Additionally, I’ve earned educational certifications from the University of Reading and the University of Glasgow. I began teaching professionally at the end of my undergraduate studies and have since gained experience as a substitute teacher and individual tutor across all grade levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies based on the student's needs and the type of assistance required, but it generally starts around $25/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve always loved helping others understand and connect with material. I started by offering help to classmates in elementary school, which led to tutoring throughout my school years. In college, I shifted to mentoring and formal education/pedagogy. Later, I spent a year as a UTSA onboarding advisor and taught a semester of paleoecology, both of which reignited my lifelong passion for education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all ages and skill levels! While most of my experience has been with elementary-aged students, I’ve also worked with middle school, high school, and college students, as well as students with learning and developmental differences.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently taught a hula dance class to kindergarten through fifth graders. We started by exploring Hawaiian culture, geography, and language. We learned some fun Hawaiian words together and practiced hand motions for each word to remember them. We then wove these historical concepts and words into our dance practice, and the kids had a blast! It was incredibly rewarding to see even the youngest students practicing their dance steps and words after the lesson ended.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't hesitate to reach out! There are some truly amazing and kind teachers in this area, and most will be happy to chat with you to better understand your specific needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
(1) Are you seeking assistance in a particular subject or lesson?
(2) What do you already know about the subject, and where are you struggling?
(3) How much time have you already spent working on this subject?
(4) How do you plan to apply this material to your personal goals (career aspirations, personal dreams, academic goals, etc.)?
