About
I am certified to teach math in Texas. I currently work as a math interventionist and privately tutor students in grades 2-8. I am successful at working with students to help them feel confident in math. In addition to teaching the calculation, I also work with students on problem solving/critical thinking skills and process of elimination on word problems. I am flexible and will work with you on a plan and schedule for your student.
I really enjoy engaging with students 1:1 or in small groups. I love helping students become successful in math. I can work with your student on what they need whether it is general improvement, word problems, acceleration or homework help.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first discussion is with the parent so that I have a clear understanding of where their student is in math and their tutoring goal. If possible, I also like to review current graded homework, quizzes, and/or tests to see how they performed and how they work through the math problems. From that information, I do my own evaluation to see where I can provide the student the most help.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified Texas math teacher for grades 4-8. I have experience teaching in the classroom and working with students 1:1.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a discount for multiple hours per week. Willing to do shorter sessions, 30-45 minutes for younger students.
$45/hour - 1 hour per week.
$40/hour - 2-3 hours per week
My rate also includes (2) contacts (email, text or phone call) per week for specific questions on a homework problem.
What types of students have you worked with?
I mostly work with elementary and middle school students (including pre-algebra) on general improvement and homework help.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is helpful to know what area in math your child needs help with. You can get this information by talking to their teacher and asking for any assessments that were completed at school.
