If your student is struggling in math; Better Version tutoring is a great place to start. I will help your student in math to raise their grades in school and to work on homework. I am a 5th grade math teacher at KIPP Sharpstown. I have also taught 7th and 9th grade and I absolutely love teaching math. My students have experienced a lot of growth and success in my class. I will also help your student by creating quick modified lessons for whatever your student needs extra practice on. I am here to help. I am patient, kind and love helping students learn. This is a great way for your students to learn online and get the extra help that they need. This is to help your child become a better student and become a better mathematician while getting the help they deserve.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Making sure to get to know them. Doing a basic assessment of what they know and what they are struggling in. Identifying what areas they need the most help in. Also knowing what motivates them to learn and the best way they learn so they are able to stay focused.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in mathematics. I am currently a 5th grade math teacher and have been working as a teacher for 6 years. I am also getting my masters in curriculum and instruction.

Yes I charge $15 for 30 minutes and $30 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I started doing after school tutoring/homework help for the YMCA. I also started to get my alternative certification for teaching and taught my first year at Westbury High School teaching algebra 1.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have working with middles school and high school students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One event that I am fond of is my first year if teaching 5th grade math and 95% of my students passed the STAAR test the first time. It was a great accomplishment for my students as some of them it was the first time they passed the STAAR! I had one student who was so excited because she had never passed STAAR ever. It was such a joy to see how excited my student were that they worked so hard and experienced so much growth.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the teacher is kind and patient and fits you and how you learn.
