What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what they know and what kind of work ethic they have. I the. Develop a plan best suited for that individual student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught math for 25 years at all levels. I have a B.S. in Secondary Education certified in Math, PE, and Driver's Ed. as well as. Masters of Education in administration.

$40 per hour or $50 for a 90 minute session.
How did you get started teaching?
I had excellent teacher/coaches as role models and that is where I felt led.
What types of students have you worked with?
From 7th grade to Seniors, low income to high, with as many diverse students as there are.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently tutoring a student who was very afraid to ask questions in class because he didn't want to ask a stupid question. I have helped him build his confidence in math to where he is his own advocate for his learning in class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Make sure the tutor has the experience to relate to different kinds of students to be able to custom fit your tutoring needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to tutors about their needs?
How committed the student is to working on their own improvement.
