About this tutor

I am a retired, certified educator bringing experience (K-8) that is applicable and current with Texas requirements.

I absolutely love helping children reach their academic goals. It is very rewarding for me when children are successful and their minds are challenged.

My son and I have been blessed to have Mrs. Womack as a tutor! Teaching has definitely been her calling. She is fully engaged and my son has transitioned from being completely uninterested to interested in the subject matter! They aren’t enough stars on the page to give her! If you are hesitant about hiring her, please don’t be, she’s worth every penny and more!!!

She does a great job and goes above and beyond to ensure her students reach their goals. Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, I want to get to know the student - interests, needs, etc.  so we can build a trust relationship. Then, I want to perform some short assessments  - verbal, written, etc.  so I can customize the learning approach to fit the student. Next, I want the student to fill comfortable about the learning approach we should take, and last but not least, I want to have fun learning!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My certifications include Early Childhood, Elementary, and English as a Second Language. I have coached UIL writing, served on numerous committees that review state curriculum as well as writing district curriculum, and participated in planning and advisory committees at the school and district levels.
