About

I became a teacher of mathematics over 30 years ago, and recently retired. The thing I always loved most about teaching math, and still do, is working with students one-on-one. To watch the transfomation of a student having difficutly, to understanding a math concept, is amazingly rewarding to me! It is the main reason I went into teaching in the first place!

I find out exactly what concept or concepts he or she is having difficulty with of what they are convering or have covered thus far.

I tell them a little about myself, and ask them to do the same with me.

I set an appointment to meet for a 30 minute strategy planning and also see if the student is serious about getting help with learning the math.

I had gotten my degree in Advertising, did not like it, and was in an employment agency's office, when a stroke of inspiration hit me all at once looking over my resume, that I had always taken math in college, loved it, and remembered the professors teaching it, and remembering how much I wanted to also. From that point in time on, I was on my way to get what I needed to become a certified teacher in Texas.

Student who are motivated enough to want to learn the math, or whos parents are.
