As a nuclear engineering PhD student, I have experienced every level and quality of education. For over 10 years, I have shared my love of math and science with other students with the hope that they will gain a new level of understanding that will help them be successful in whatever they want to do. My background is in physics and nuclear engineering and while I have my strengths, I acknowledge that this is different for everyone. While ensuring that students grasp concepts, I believe that it is important to show them how those concepts can be connected and applied to their everyday life and interests.
I started tutoring as a sophomore in high school - more than 10 years ago. Over the years, I have worked as a private tutor and as a tutor in my university’s student disability service center. I have worked with students at all levels and I am happy to work with the student (and parents) to provide the support they need to succeed.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, it is important to access the learning style of the individual to personalize tutoring methods. In addition, it helps to learn the interests of the student so that examples can be tailored to the individual to make content more interesting and memorable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Science in Physics with a minor in Mathematics. I work as a private tutor for individuals and spent two years tutoring in a student disability service, helping a diverse group of students in math, phsyics, and chemistry. I went through annual formal training before beginning this role.

I charge on an hourly basis. Price is negotiable based on the level of the student, the difficulty of the material, and the preperation necessary to ensure the student's success.
