About
I have been tutoring Math at the high school and college levels for over 30 years. I have experience tutoring everything from Developmental Math through Engineering Math. This includes Algebra, Finite, Calculus, Trig and Precal, Statistics, Probability, and some aspects of linear algebra and differential equations. I have primarily done in-person tutoring, but have had occasion to help students using internet and phone. I decided that, in the current environment, I could be most helpful by expanding that aspect of service
Since I have the student do all (or most) of the writing, it is always rewarding when they realize they were able to do something THEMSELVES that they previously thought not possible, especially when it is easier and more fun than they expected

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe that I can provide the most efficient service by going directly to the problems the student is trying to solve. A student who has more specific questions, will cover the most material in a session. However, I am perfectly comfortable working with someone who feels too confused to know where to begin. In that case, I would still like to see the problems we are trying to solve, so that I can ask the appropriate questions to determine how much of the foundational concepts I need to reinforce.
