Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process would consist of first assessing the students. I would want to know their weaknesses and strengths and would gauge it by administering worksheets based on different skills. I would then start with their strengths to build their comfort and confidence level. I would start by showing "tip and tricks" for the areas that they are weak in and do different problems with it. I would also want to show the application to real life situations as I feel a lot of math students always say "when am I going to use this in real life?"
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am 2 classes short of being a ceritifed elementary/middle school teacher and will be done by August 2020.
I have passed both of these Texas Educator and Cerification Examination Programs:
PEDAGOGY & PROF RESP EC-12
MATHEMATICS 4-8
I also tutored during my college years at the University of Houston at the Bauer Statistics Lab.
I have worked within Commodities Trading in Natural Gas for 10 years and have been working with numbers during my tenor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No I do not. I am flexible and will work with clients individually.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started in pursuing my teaching degree in 2019, when I realized it was my calling. I wanted a way to give back to the community while also making a career out of it. The love for math comes when a teacher has patience and realizes the fundamentals of math has to be strong.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, middle school, and high school students all the way up to college.
