Mercedes' Tutoring

My name is Mercedes Wong and I am an experienced tutor, teaching assistant, and researcher. I received my B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in English from the University of Texas at Austin.

I have been a tutor for K-12 students in the subjects of reading, history, science, art, and math. I also have experience tutoring fellow college students in english (rhetorical writing and scientific writing), classical studies, geoarchaeology, biological anthropology, microscopy, and exam study skills. My specializations are within developing reading comprehension, writing skills, science, and students with learning accommodations. During college, I had the privilege of working with the college's Disability Services as an exam reader and tutor for students with disabilities (dyslexia, vision impairment, and hearing impairment). I furthered my work as an assistant to the coordinator of the program, focusing on the importance of creating more accessibility for students of all learning styles in k-12 and higher education.

As a tutor, I have a passion for helping students gain the confidence to improve their education, enhance their skills, and achieve more progress in their lives. One of my goals as an educator is to create fun and accessible learning experiences for every student!
