Back 'in the day' I was an A student in mathmatics. In college I did 4 semesters of calclus plus other mathmatical courses (but that was a long time ago). I worked in electrical engineer for many years and then was in publishing. I have always felt that the reasons for the problems many students have with calculus is due to the lack of a firm foundation in Algebra an trigonometry and I would like, primarily to address this deficit.

Hi, my name is Sofia. Fun fact: I love to travel. Chicago is my favorite destination! I also love working with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Computer Engineering and have been tutoring with SoFlo for two years. Math and Science tend to build on themselves, so our methodology is to identify gaps in a student’s knowledge o

I am a senior in High School at Lamar Academy. I have a year of experience tutoring at my local kumon and specialize in teaching math to K-9th. I am also able to tutor in the sciences due to my experience in Science Olympiad, and research I have published. I am very patient with kids, and do my best to break things down to help them understand. I believe in using multiple approaches and in different strategies. Even going as far to create small cheat sheets to help a child understand a topic to the fullest extent.
