Back 'in the day' I was an A student in mathmatics. In college I did 4 semesters of calclus plus other mathmatical courses (but that was a long time ago). I worked in electrical engineer for many years and then was in publishing. I have always felt that the reasons for the problems many students have with calculus is due to the lack of a firm foundation in Algebra an trigonometry and I would like, primarily to address this deficit.

Hi, my name is Sofia. Fun fact: I love to travel. Chicago is my favorite destination! I also love working with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Computer Engineering and have been tutoring with SoFlo for two years. Math and Science tend to build on themselves, so our methodology is to identify gaps in a student’s knowledge o

I was a student at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and I am starting my Doctorate degree at Texas A&M College of Pharmacy. I also created a Pre-Pharmacy organization that led me to learn a lot about the Pre-med process and what schools look for in a student. I am a big believer of creating your own method of understanding. I have a year of tutoring experience in Chemistry and Math, and I've learned that there isn't always one path towards reaching your academic goals. I always try to create personal methods/strategies to prepare for exams. This method got me A's in all chemistries up to Organic 2. Taking a different approach makes lear

I have been a Montessori teacher for over 6 years and a teacher for over 15 years. Using Montessori Method for teaching English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies along with practical life for 3-to 6 year olds brought great results. My Kinder students could already read at grade 1 and 2 levels and do multiplications and divisions as well, thanks to Maria Montessori Method of education. I want to use my classroom experience to tutor kids at home or online. I am certified in the state of Texas to teach elementary level all subjects.

I take a rigorous IB course workload and am an active student in my school. I am an exceptional communicator and LOVE Math and Science (but more math).
