Back 'in the day' I was an A student in mathmatics. In college I did 4 semesters of calclus plus other mathmatical courses (but that was a long time ago). I worked in electrical engineer for many years and then was in publishing. I have always felt that the reasons for the problems many students have with calculus is due to the lack of a firm foundation in Algebra an trigonometry and I would like, primarily to address this deficit.

Fun fact: I can say the dialogue from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by heart. Hi, my name is Christa, and I love working with students! The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I studied Mathematics at Wayne State University and have been tutoring for 2 years. At SoFlo, we realize that Math and Science tend to build on themselves, so our methodology is to identify gaps in a student’s kno

I consider myself extremely knowledgeable in math and am willing to do everything I can to help any child I teach. Focusing on individual goals, we tailor our tutoring methods to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering both understanding and confidence in their academic journey. My name is Rodolfo Cantu, and I will be a high school senior by the fall of 2024. I attend South Texas ISD and am at the top of my class. I take a rigorous IB course workload and am an active student in my school. I am an exceptional communicator and LOVE Math and Science (but more math). I have realized that I have a passion for teaching which I cultivated when I volunteered to stay after school and tutor various Algebra l students in my junior year. In my IB Math Applications course which includes statistics, Algebra, Calculus, and Trigonometry, my peers know to turn to me for not the answer but an in-depth exploration of the problem to hel
