Omar's Math Tutoring
About
Although I am just a high school graduate, I have a passion for math, test prep, and the college application process. Whenever I was in the test prep and college application process, I always tried to help my friends and my surrounding peers. It has become a passion of mine that I hope to pursue full time in the future. This website will give me a chance to help other students like me who are going through the same things I went through.
All my life I have enjoyed math. Whether that was solving for x when I first entered Algebra 1 or finding the derivative of a particular function in AP Calculus, I've always found math rewarding and a fun subject. It continues to build on itself to form numerous equations, formulas, theorems, and more. As a result, this has made math for me more of a hobby and a pastime. Also, standardized testing and college applications has become a big passion of mine. I have reached out to many to help them with their tests and applications, and I hope to pursue this job full time in the future. Until then, helping people on here and helping students succeed is what is most important, especially during this time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first ask them what they believe they're good at, as well as their weaknesses. Their strengths allow me to see how that can help them in their weak spots, as well as how they approach different kinds of problems. Also, I like to ask them what goals they have for themselves and how they will achieve those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the last year, I have finished applying to 10 colleges, both in state and out. I will be attending Texas A&M University to study Finance and Political Science, and I have utilized the Common Application, ApplyTexas, and the UC App. Also, I have taken both the SAT and ACT, as well as the PSAT in my 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years.
In addition, over my schooling career, I have taken almost every math course that was offered. This includes:
Pre-AP Algebra 1
Pre-AP Geometry
Pre-AP Algebra 2
Pre-AP Pre Calculus
AP Calculus AB
AP Statistics
Also, I have been a math tutor in the math tutoring club as my school known as Intellichoice. I have tutored through here for almost two years, tutoring students from all different grade levels, as well as helping students with math at the public library on some weekends.
