Danah Omary, Electrical Engineering PhD
About
I am currently an Electrical Engineering PhD student and I also have a long history of tutoring. Even as a student, I am a teaching assistant so I am regularly teaching concepts and helping students. I also used to work as a tutor for a tutoring center and taught K-12 in reading, writing and math. In addition to the tutoring job, I also tutored family in various levels of math (high school to college level). I also have a math minor and regularly have to use math, so my math abilities are quite developed. I have always loved tutoring and helping others and genuinely enjoy it. I patiently work with students with their learning styles rather than a one size fits all methodology. I also make sure that students genuinely understand the material rather than just them understanding at a surface level purely for testing reasons, though I will still ensure they can succeed on tests. I make sure to thoroughly understand concepts myself so that I can effectively teach them so that the students can truly understand the material and ask any questions and get answers to whatever they need.
With my background, I am well able to teach sciences (including programming and robotics as well as general school sciences), math and language (reading and writing). These are also all subjects I actively use in my career, so they are quite fresh on my mind and still continuously growing.
