About this tutor

I was a tutor for 2 years while studying for undergrad degree. I mainly tutored high school students in math and science subjects (chemistry, biology, physics, geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, AP calculus).

I have a degree in electrical engineering with a biomedical specialization from Southern Methodist University. I also have an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas with a specialization in marketing and business analytics.

I enjoy helping students realize their potential and giving them the confidence they need in themselves and their ability to achieve and succeed.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I want to get to know the student a little bit, what they like and don't like as far as school subjects, how they learn best. I also want to establish meeting times and expectations, both from the student and parent, and to understand the student's goals for a particular subject.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I tutored high school students through a privately owned tutoring company for two years while in college. Subjects included chemistry, biology, physics, geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, AP calculus.

I have an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering with a biomedial specialization from Southern Methodist University. I also recently completed an MBA at University of Texas at Dallas with a specialization in markeing and business analytics.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $15/hour for all subjects.

If families require lower rates because of challenges due to COVID-19, I will accept whatever families can pay.

How did you get started teaching?

I have always enjoyed teaching and working with kids. I formally tutored several hours per week while in college and loved it. I was unable to continue tutoring while working full-time in a corporate job, but now have time again to do what I love.

What types of students have you worked with?

High school students, middle school students

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How do you learn best? What are you looking for from a tutor? What are your goals for this class/subject? How often do you want to meet?
