About
We have been in education for over 15 years. Our experience ranges from elementary teacher (2nd-4th grade), to private tutor. Throughout my tenure, I have learned many different methods that extend beyond my college education. I have taught a variety of students and demographics.
My philosophy is to make learning fun, and relevant while teaching to the child's needs.
I specialize in hands on experience in math tutoring. Students learn best with concrete models and several different methods of practice.
I have taught all content areas in Elementary Education in from 2nd - 4th grade.
I have over 6 years of successful teaching and tutoring in STAAR grade levels (3rd and 4th).
I enjoy working one on one or in a small group because I can quickly assess what the child needs without the distractions of a normal classroom setting. Also, working one on one gives me a chance to get to know the child better.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically when I start with a new client I like to ask questions about the child's background. I like to know what troubles they have had and what kinds of things were successful and others that have not been so successful. I tend to do a preassessment to help gather more infomation. From there I usually know right away what the child needs.
