Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first would introduce myself to the student and tell a little about me and what I do and why I enjoy my working with students. If the student feels comfortable talking with me, I would ask them about what it is they like doing and why. I am a very caring individual and enjoy talking with others and especially helping others. I have many people who would testify to these attributes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Elementary Education degree and taught as my first job 6th grade, for 10 years. After that, I worked for Houston Community College, as a Clinical Instructor, in the Pharmacy Technician Program, for 17 years. Then I taught Adult Education, with the Texas Workforce Solutions, for 2 years. Currently, I work as a scribe (notetaker) for the Disabilities Dept.
