My age is normally what parents have been concerned with in the past. I am 18 years old, so I’m a Senior in high school. During my jounior year I took two class in UT. It was an amazing experience. I may be young, but the subjects I tutor in are the ones I’ve excelled at and love to help others in as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During my first lesson I like to get to know the person and get a feel of what they already know. I like to start at the basics, then work our way up to ensure they understand the whys and hows. During this time I also like to see how they learn best. Wether they’re a visual, reading, or note taking type of learner. This however also depends on what subject they need help in, different tactics may help in different subjects.

How did you get started teaching?
I started when I was a freshman. My friends were having trouble with certain subjects that I was excelling in, so I offered to help and enjoyed it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Not every teacher will be right for every student. Everyone has a different teaching method they use and that method may not work for you. Take a look at every person and don’t be timid to email/text. It’s best to speak to them before hand, and explain what you need help with and what you’re helping to gain.
