I have a passion for helping students not only achieve academic success but for fostering a sense of self confidence and pride as a learner. Every student learns differently and I strive to provide them with what they themselves specifically need to achieve success.
I have been teaching Special Education for 5 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish Language and a Master's Degree in Education.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students learn best from someone they trust and have a relationship with. I put in the effort upfront to establish a solid relationship with a student so that they can achieve long term academic success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors and Master's degrees. Extra hours of Reading Instruction and professional development.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$40-50 per lesson based on time. First lesson provided free of charge.
How did you get started teaching?
I realized I had a passion for working with students with disabilities and that brought me into the teaching profession.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ability levels ranging from those with severe developmental delays to those in gifted and talented programs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My students this year were so excited to celebrate my birthday with me, they all individually wrote me letters. And I will keep them and cherish them forever.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is importnat for students to understand how they learn best, what they enjoy learning about, their strengths and also areas where they need the most help. Do not be afriad to ask for help in the areas needed.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Taking time to think about if they truly need extra help on the subject or material or if they actually can complete it independently. More often then not they can!
