Sean Thomas

As a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a major in Environmental Engineering and a certificate in computer science, I am highly proficient in math and science concepts. Throughout my educational career, people have gravitated towards me whenever they felt they were struggling with a concept, knowing that they could rely on me to explain the concept in an easy-to-understand manner. When it comes to explaining concepts, I take a methodical approach in that I avoid outright stating the answer and instead try to get the student to first explain the concepts to me and give them feedback on their explanations and correct any misunderstanding they may have. I am very patient when it comes to teaching, which is very important as sometimes, you will need to explain things multiple times and vary your approach when someone is struggling to understand a concept. Additionally, I have previously worked as a grader and tutor for the tutoring company Best Brains Learning Centers, where I assisted teachers by grading assignments and helping explain material to students, and this experience is highly transferable to one-on-one tutoring.
