Mathnasium Of Westlake
About
The Mathnasium Method starts with a comprehensive evaluation to produce a customized program for each student. All work is supervised in-center using a combination of techniques and individualized small-group instruction with oral questioning to reinforce understanding.
I love helping students understand what they are doing and why. When math makes sense, students can work problems that aren't like the ones they have been taught before, and think through noval situations.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every new student receives a free initial oral and written evaluation to pinpoint any gaps they may have as well as the limits of their knowledge. From this we create a personalized learning plan that meets a student where they are, fills in any gaps, and brings them to where they need/want to be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our instructors range in experience from high school and graduate students, to individuals with masters degrees and doctorates. We are students, engineers, councilors, business owners, parents and grandparents. And we all love helping make math make sense. Some of us found math easy, others struggled with it, and some of us didn't get interested in it until late in life.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our assesments are free. If you choose to join our program, we charge a one-time setup fee of $50.
We recommend two or three sessions a week for most students. Our fees vary by school level (elementary, middle, algebra and beyond) and frequency of attendance. The cost per session is lower when your package has more sessions each month.
We also offer homework help packages for older students, and bundles of one-on-one sessions for students in crisis.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught middle school and high school, from Algebra I to AP Calculus AB and BC. I am certified to teach special ed students and gifted and talented students. I work with reluctant students, accelerated students, and everyone in between. I teach ELLs and Spanish immersion students.
