About this tutor

In fifteen years, I have found that students learn best when they feel confident. I make a point to learning about my students' strengths and interests and relating the lessons to them in different ways.

I genuinely enjoy reading literature and using writing methods with my students. I feel that they have fun when we work together because I am having fun.

I most enjoy seeing the great intelligence and eagerness to learn in my students.

When they push themselves and discover their strengths, I feel fulfilled in my role as guide.

My tutor pays attention to all details and keeps me going. She is very professional and intelligent. She gives me a chance to re-think and re-wright without time pressure. She always has time to review my writing and come up with some sort of intelligent jokes, which don't affect my self-esteem in negative way, but encourage me to look over my writing. She is awesome.

Laura helped me with my essay writing. She is a fun tutor and I have not forgotten the way she taught me to organize my thoughts and plan. It has helped me a lot.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

1. Establish level of reading and comprehension.

2. Establish learning goals and testing goals.

3. Adapt and create curriculum according to level, goals and interests. Curriculum is project based and each student choses between three or more projects. NO Worksheets are used. Work is interactive, hands-on and requires development of research and multiple language skills.

4. Work with student, making assessments each week, two-week period and monthly.
