About
When working with a student, the two most important goals that I have are: (1) convincing the student that it's OK to ask questions until you get the help that's needed, and (2) cultivating their confidence to the point that they can take ownership of their own learning.
I am a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (BA, Mathematics, 1998) and Texas Tech University (MS, Applied Mathematics, 2000). I have 20+ years of experience teaching and tutoring math both face-to-face and online. During that time, I've had the opportunity to help students ranging in age from 13-73 years old. I really enjoy working with students of all types ... middle schoolers, high schoolers, undergraduates, homeschoolers, and non-traditional students.
To give you an idea of the areas in which I might be able to help, below is a list of courses that I have taught:
7th Math, 8th Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, College Pre-algebra, College Algebra, College Precalculus, and Mathematics for Business and Social Sciences I and II, AP Physics 1, and AP Biology.
My list of previous and current employers include:
Johns Hopkins CTY, Texas Tech University, McMurry University, Western Texas College, Colorado Technical University, Cisco College, Jim Ned CISD, Lancaster ISD, and Blackwell CISD.
