What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Introductions
First, learning what they need to accomplish, talk about where they are not succeeding, make a plan to achieve their goal, schedule sessions and detail lesion plan are agreed upon.
This can take half the session or just 5 min depending on there needs.

How did you get started teaching?
When your a scientist you learn to teach as you study because you present, study, teach one another. But the first time I led a program through my AP biology class where we went to elementary schools and taught them some science concepts that were showy was very fun and rewarding and I knew then that is someti would enjoy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you can stand, who wants to help you succeed, and is patient enough to explain as much as needed.
