About
100% Satisfaction Guarantee & 5 Stars On Google
AG Tutoring offers a variety of online education services including online tutoring, test prep, classes, self-paced courses, consulting, and homeschooling assistance. All of our tutors are highly qualified and many of our tutors have one or more graduate level degrees. In fact, less than 2% of applicants end up being hired as tutors; this is because we have higher standards of instruction and conduct higher quality background checks compared to our primary competitors. We want to make sure that our clients are receiving the best instruction possible. We even offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee for your initial session or class.
Please note that our pricing increases in accordance with a student's grade level and increases for students who only purchase 1 session at a time. Our pricing for individual online tutoring varies between $39-80 per hour. We also offer affordable "pay later" options through PayPal.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I provide a free initial phone consultation. During the initial consultation, I introduce myself and I ask questions that help determine expectations and goals for future tutoring sessions. After I gather this information, I ask both the student and his or her guardian if they have any questions or concerns that I have not addressed. After the initial consultation, I either refer the student to another tutor or accept the tutoring position myself. Every tutor has a different, evidence-based protocol they follow. If I am the tutor, then I administer the appropriate benchmark assessments to the student so that I can determine his or her current level. I also use the results of each assessment to identify the student's educational strengths and weaknesses. Based on the results of these benchmark assessments, I develop a baseline that I can use to track individual student progress towards specific learning goals.

***Basic Summary***
I have been tutoring since 2011. The jobs listed above reference the larger organizations that I worked for throughout the years. I did not list any private clients. I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University in 2019. While attending Vanderbilt University, I majored in special education. Specifically, I focused on the K-8 high incidence interventionist track. Each semester, I would work with students in schools across Tennessee as part of my course requirements. After graduation, I accepted a job as a special education teacher for Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). After working for MNPS, I began working for Rutherford County Public Schools. I worked as a special education teacher in a structured setting. My class was made up of students in each of the elementary grade levels. At the end of the 2019-2020 school year, I resigned to start my own tutoring company called AG Tutoring LLC.

How did you get started teaching?
I'm autistic and my special interest is teaching! I also love making outlines, finding patterns, and analyzing data. Test prep is 'my jam'!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with various student populations. I have worked with students across all grade levels (Pre-K to 12th). I have also worked with students in a general education setting and students in a special education setting.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just had a student increase their ACT score by 5 points after only about a month of tutoring.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You should ask the provider whether or not they offer any guarantees. For example, you could ask if they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It is especially important to ask about guarantees for any test prep services. Ask if the provider guarantees that your child will increase his or her test score. Test prep courses tend to be costly, so you should get some sort of guarantee with the investment you are making. In my opinion, an education is the most important investment someone can make. Make sure you get a good return on that investment!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) Do you offer any guarantees?
2) What are the terms and conditions for your guarantees?
3) Do you offer any additional guarantees and/or discounts for purchasing more than the standard package?
4) After working with you, how much does a student typically improve?
5) Do you progress monitor or collect other forms of student data? If yes, then how do you assess whether or not a student is making sufficient progress? How often do you do this?
6) Throw in a trick question to make sure they have expertise in the required content area.
