About
Hello! My name is Kayla, and I am currently a second-year medical student with a Bachelor's degree from Smith College.
Before beginning medical school, I worked as a high school teacher and college and career advisor, teaching a wide range of subjects including Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, English, Spanish I and II, African American History, and Environmental Science. In addition to classroom teaching, I helped students navigate the college application process, identify colleges that matched their goals, prepare application materials, apply for scholarships, and develop plans for life after high school.
I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of learning needs and learning styles. My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual strengths and challenges. Whether a student needs help mastering course content, preparing for exams, improving study strategies, building academic confidence, or planning for college, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
As an advocate and educator, I understand that every student's path is unique. I am passionate about helping students not only succeed academically but also discover opportunities that will help them achieve their long-term goals.
