About this tutor

I believe that my service stands out for many reasons. I have been tutoring for 4-5 years and when I was in school, my friends would always ask me for help in their studies.

I want to make sure that I develop a good relationship with my students so that they enjoy their tutoring. Meeting a new person can be awkward sometimes and I do my absolute best to make my students comfortable. My logic behind this is that if a student is comfortable in their environment then they will have an easier time understanding the information being taught.

I love being a tutor, because I can help students understand topics that may be hard for them. My dream job has always been to be a teacher. I am extremely passionate about making sure that no student falls behind in their learning and making sure that students actually understand the material.

When I was a student, I always wished that I had a good tutor and so I want to be that for my students. During my sessions, I always make sure not to do the work for the student, but instead I walk the student through the steps of how to complete the assignment themselves. I believe that if a student understands how to complete each step of the process, then they will have a better comprehensive understanding of the topic as a whole.

Taylor is very patient and her teaching style worked with mine because she is persistent. My main problem with french specifically was the accent, but Taylor has an excellent ear and was able to help me a lot. I am also very bad at breaking down problems step by step. I tend to read the problem and immediately get overwhelmed, but Taylor was definitely able to break up each question into parts so that I could easily understand. I would use her as a tutor for any subject because, of course, she is smart but she is also kind and she teaches in a way that doesn’t make you feel inferior.

Taylor is very out going, nice, kind, and really allowed me to understand where I had mistakes and how to fix them. She’s super sweet and has great social skills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

When I begin working with a new student, I like to get to know them. I like knowing their study habits, what exactly they need help with, and their personality so I can provide the best care tailored to each student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from a private Catholic high school in Southern California. While in high school, I tutored many of my fellow students and even my younger brother. Aside from people I knew who asked me to tutor them, I was also hired to tutor other students by their parents.

Along with my experience tutoring, I am also currently double majoring in English with an emphasis in Literature and Secondary Education at Belmont University.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My flat rate for a session is $15. That includes basic prep and the session itself.

At this time I require no additional fees.
