About
Hello and welcome to my tutoring page! I'm an experienced educator + mathematician who is new to Tutors.com. I look forward to working together!
I really focus on helping students gain understanding of the material as opposed to memorizing a formula or technique. This makes learning math concepts and approaching new problems much less frustrating. I want to give learners the tools to succeed in and beyond our meetings.
I love being able to support someone through the learning process. Learning anything can be difficult, especially something as abstract as math. It brings me great joy to help learners move out of a place of frustration and into confidence.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a free 30-min session as a trial session and/or consultation. This can also be extended to a half price 60-min session.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with intermediate and secondary level students, grades 7-12. I have worked with students in grade-level classes, as well as students in repeat classes who have struggled with math. I have also helped adults and peers learn mathematical concepts throughout my life.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Meet with someone you feel comfortable asking questions to. In math, it can be intimidating to ask questions and sometimes even harder to get answers. Math was only created because people asked questions! So it is very important that all learners have the opportunity to get answers to their questions.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is something (any subject) that you enjoy learning and why?
Have you noticed anything in particular that frustrates you about math?
What mathematical concepts make sense to you? What do you struggle with?
