Online Math Tutoring
About
I think I stand out by just my personality once you get to know me. I am a fun, easy-going guy, who is looking to teach others how easy math can be.
I have always enjoyed math because it makes sense to me. People tend to like the things they are good at and for me being able to teach math to anyone is an accomplishment in itself.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process would begin with a meeting and getting along with the student briefly and then I would see how they interpret the problems in front of them. Then I would have a better understanding on how their brain works with math and numbers and from there I would show them how they could think about it differently. Math is a fun subject because there are plenty of ways to calculate problems to get the right answer and sometimes the way a teacher would teach it just does not click well. I had this problem in high school and I had to find other methods which helped me understand what was going on and not just spitting out equations that mean nothing to me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always excelled at math because of how logical it is. There is always a right answer and you never have to dig deeper to find another meaning. I started tutoring while still in high school by helping a few of my friends with the current class we were in and then in college found out that a lot of people need help with math and I have tutored them. I have tutored calculus 1 to 4 fellow friends in college and I have tutored 1 in college algebra.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Depending on the class it will change but starting I would not charge more than $15/hr
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching by seeing a need in my friends who struggled in math class. I knew how to do the work and it helped me understand the information even better if I could teach others how to correctly do it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with College Algebra and Calculus students but am willing to teach almost any type of math.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I have acquired an Instrument rating to my private pilot's license and am currently working on my commercial license. These tests are not easy and require a lot of work and I am proud of the achievements I have made towards the career I hope to work in.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
For students, I would say to have an open mind and know it is okay if you do not understand it the first time. Stay optimistic and with time the numbers will soon make sense
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Questions you should have before talking to a teacher about your needs are first, what is the current problem at hand. Secondly, how did this problem begin? Finally, what can you do to prevent this problem from happening again?
