I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in preschool - I would line up my stuffed animals and teach them whatever I had learned that day!

I began teaching immediately out of college and have taught in both America and China.

I have worked with students from preschool to college-aged. I have taught classes of honors math students and classes of students with mathematical  disabilities.

I love using hands on examples and manipulatives to help students understand mathematical concepts. Recently I was working with a student in Geometry and I brought in blocks from my sons' toys and we used these to work on surface area and volume.

I also worked with some algebra students recently and used Algebra Tiles to illustrate binomial multiplication and factoring. This really connected with the student and it was a joy to watch!

Be open and honest about your areas of struggle - the more you share with me about why and how you're struggling or what your achievement goal is, the more effectively I will be able to support you!

What information am I consistently missing when I approach this type of problem?
Is there another way I can illustrate this problem?
What is my learning style and how can I connect this with my math learning?
