About

I am an English Education major at Pellissippi State. I am pursing this in hopes of becoming a teacher. So, to say I have a passion for teaching would be an understatement. I volunteer at my local church, teaching children each Sunday and Wednesday. When I tutor, I work with students to help each one achieve his or her goal. Additionally, I proofread essays and other writings to offer grammar corrections and other suggestions to improve students writing.

Ever since I was young, I knew teaching was the career for me. I am a very social human, and I love helping others in any way that I can. Teaching not only held both of these for me, but it also allows me to share my passion for English.

    Frequently asked questions

The first session with new students is always free. In the first session, I try to get to know my students. My goal is to understand their needs and how I can best help them throughout the next sessions.

I graduated from a private, Christian school in 2019. I am currently enrolled at Pellissippi State as an English Education major. I am familiar with working with students as I volunteer at my local church in the children's ministry department.

I charge $10 per 30 minute session, but I am flexible with this because I understand the goal is the help the student.

If you or a student you are finding a tutor for is hesitant about seeking help, I understand. I am very stubborn and I absolutely HATE asking for help. However, a very wise teacher told me something I will never forget. He told me "Miss Rhyne, when you have a skill that you can use to help others, doesn't it make you feel wonderful to be able to use it?" Of course, I said "yes." "Well," he continued, "I have a skill, a knowledge of a subject you don't fully understand. You need help with this subject. Don't rob me of being able to use my skill to help you!" The class he was teaching was my high school chemistry class. I did need the man's help. So, not only did I get the help I needed, but he gave me important wisdom. If you truly need help, don't rob someone the oppurtunity to help you. You are not dumb or weak for needing help. A tutor can come alongside you to give you the push you need to reaching your goals.
