About
Hi, I look forward to helping you and your student! I was a math tutor in high school and currently tutor math and English, and am now pursuing a degree inSpecial Education as well as a degree in Theatre. I was the salutatorian of my high school graduating class and have had a 4. 0 GPA throughout my time in college. I love teaching and tutoring and would love the opportunity to work with your student, help them succeed in their classes, and teach them study skills that will help them thrive throughout their time in school!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a meet-and-greet with the student and parent to discuss scheduling and what subjects we will be working on, where the student needs he most help, and their learning style. I also ensure that I review the Tennessee learning standards for the grade I am working with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a babysitter for the last 8 years and am currently in the process of earning a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I tutored algebra in high school and am now tutoring 1st grade math and reading.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $15-20/hour depending on what the family is able to afford.
How did you get started teaching?
I started out as a babysitter when I was in middle school and became a math tutor soon after, which I continued through middle and high school. I then decided to become a teacher and have been earning a degree in order to follow that dream.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in elementary, middle, and high school tutoring a variety of subjects.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend that the student ensure they find a teacher that they connect with and that has a teaching style that works well which the student’s learning style. Having a teacher that you work well with is essential for learning.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should know what areas they need the most help with, what specific skills within those areas they find the most challenging, and what their learning style is.
