I have been a public school teacher for 20 years. I have a dual certification in regular education and special education. I have taught multiple grade levels as well as special education.
I believe that every child can learn but that the rate that children learn is different. I enjoy meeting a child at his/her current ability and then watching them grow both emotionally and academically.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I like to encourage "all about me" time then after that I work to recognize each student's strengths and weaknesses in the area we will be working on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years experience as a regular elementary education teacher and 5 years as a special education teacher.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching was my college major. I began teaching staight out of college. I began as a kindergarten regular education teacher and went on to teach grades K-3. I received my special education endorsement five years ago and currently teach elementary special education.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both regular and special education students in elementary grades. I have also tutored children one-on-one and in group settings.
