My approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering both understanding and confidence in their academic journey. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a student for a period of time I will address the following prior to beginning tutoring:
1. Ask what the student hopes to accomplish? (Improve grades; prepare for a test; have extra help in a troubled sub; prepare for life beyond the classroom.)
2. Ask to see some examples of what they are having difficulties in or practice questions to gain this understanding.
3. Set up a individual tutoring plan to reflect classroom or personal deadlines.
4. Personalize myself with the student. (This will allow me to create personal examples more geared towards what the student enjoys.)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor Degrees:
Secondary Education w/ Environmental and Resource Science
Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences
(As well as a minor in Mathematics)
Teaching Certifications:
General Science
Biological Science
Physical Science
***Experience teaching a wide range of Boyscout merit badges and tying activities into extra examples using videos and activities that the student can do outside of tutoring!***

***Weekly Session Package***
$50 per week
Highly Suggested- This allows me to tailor tutoring to individual students!
Weekly session Package includes:
(1) 30 mins. Assessment/planning session (for first week only)
(Prior to tutoring sessions to plan sessions and understand the student goals/desires.)
(2) 60 mins. Sessions per week
Ongoing assessment of improvements/weaknesses and session tailored to the student.
Individual Sessions
30 mins. = $13
45 mins. = $17
60 mins. = $21
90 mins. = $26
