I have been a professional tutor one-on-one as a full time job for ten of the last 13 years. I devised an English curriculum for each student and then worked to address individual needs whether they be writing skills or reading comprehension.For some students, I go over basic grammar skills while for others, I challenge to discover new concepts and push themselves. Student success brings me joy.
I have been involved in highschool education for three decades in the classroom and in administration.
I graduate from Middlebury College Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude and went on to get a Masters Degree in English.
Quite simply, I now want to teach from home.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually ask students to send me copies of their past papers and some recent assignments. I also ask them to give me a sense of their goals. Quite often, they do not know exactly what they need, and it is my role to help them see errors and weaknesses and work through them. My relationship with a student is key. For success, we need a mutually understood goal.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
13 years direct tutoring
English teacher and high school and college level ( 22 years aggregate)
My training is truly just years of experience with working with high school and college students. Years of experience cannot be discounted.
