About

I'm a former homeschool mom who has graduated my three students, now with one a college graduate and two in college. I have helped other high school and middle school homeschool students for three years understand and see that math is needed in EVERY aspect of life. Math is really like a puzzle that CAN be solved, and it's actually fun! I love to see the "light bulb go on" when a student gets the new math concept.

I love seeing students “get” new math concepts.

Mrs. Julie is patient and worked with me to help me understand math problems. She also found ways to motivate me which made me more willing to do my math homework.

Julie is an excellent tutor for my 10th grader who is currently in geometry. She is very patient and highly encouraging in her approach. My teenager said Ms. Julie always makes sure he understands concepts before moving forward. I appreciate her thouroughness.

Because I am a visual learner, as a young girl the blocks helped me understand math! Getting into higher math the videos Mr. Demme recorded helped me understand the material I was learning. Mrs. Julie has a wonderful knowledge of math and was so understanding and patient when I was confused about math concepts.

Julie is a phenomenal teacher. She meets the students right where they are at and helps them understand on their level. She is patient, smart, talented, and flexible. We are so thankful that we found Julie. She has helped us more than she will ever know.

Frequently asked questions

I like to have an initial meeting for less than 30 minutes with the student and parent to assess the math needs. Then we can establish a weekly day and time to meet and how to turn homework in to me. Also, I like to have a review of the tutoring within 2 months after beginning to see if the parent is pleased with progress and if the student is happy meeting with me.

I am a former homeschool mom of 16 years (my 3 have all graduated), I have tutored in math and English for 3 years, and I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology.

I became a homeschool mom with my three children, beginning with Kindergarten and ending homeschooling with their high school graduations. One has already graduated from college and two are college students. I also began tutoring some of my friend’s children for help with high school math.

I have taught my three children from Kindergarten through graduation, four other homeschool high schoolers with math, one middle schooler with math, and two middle schoolers with English.

Easter Sunday - even though we spent it very differently this year due to COVID-19 - was a very special day because of Jesus’ Resurrection and the precious time spent with my family.

Math is the most essential subject you will have because you use math every day: how many red apples you need to buy at the grocery, how much paint you need to paint your room, how much does an item really cost per ounce to buy the best value, how many miles per gallon of gas is your car using, etc.

1) It is helpful to know your learning style: are you a visual, auditory, and/or kinesthetic learner?

2) What is your favorite thing to do when you get to choose to do something?

3) Will you complete your homework if you know how to do?
