Academic Advantage Tutoring
I am a freelance writer and budgeting coach. I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a B.S. in Business Management and I write blog posts for personal finance and budgeting. I have been working in my field for over 5+ years. Helping people learn something that they never thought they could about subjects they don't feel they understand genuinely makes me happy. I am proficient in all subjects but I am most passionate about Math, English, and Business. I am driven to help others achieve and my goal is to make sure each student leaves my tutoring service feeling accomplished and confident in their abilities.
The best is knowing that I have helped someone else achieve something they set out to achieve. It's the best feeling!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically do a trial basis for new students to see what it is they are struggling with and if I will be a good fit as a tutor. The trial basis lasts a week. I am very flexible with scheduling to fit my students' needs depending on how full my schedule already is.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am fluent in English for my language students. I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a major in Business Management and a minor in Finance. I am a budgeting coach, business/personal finance freelance writer, and an Editor/Proofreader. I also tutored in high school and college.
How did you get started teaching?
I used to help my little brother and cousins when they had difficulties with subjects in school. I started to branch out and helped friends in high school with English papers and math homework. I learned I really enjoy helping people learn and it makes me feel accomplished when they've learned something I taught them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is passionate about what they do when they're teaching. You're sure to learn something you never knew when someone is passionate about what they do.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have a good understanding of the subject?
Do I have time to study with a tutor on this subject?
Will I be able to achieve what I want without the help of a tutor?
Am I just looking for someone to do the work for me or would I like for someone to teach me how to do the work for myself?
