About

Hello!

My name is Chloe, and I'm pleased you've stumbled upon my tutoring service!

I taught myself how to read when I was five years old, and have since excelled in all things reading, writing, and literature since.

I found a passion for reading and writing after having read the Harry Potter series and the Percy Jackson and the Olympians as a teenager. Since then, I have constantly been writing and creating worlds and stories for my own writing.

I have had several awards given to me for my writing, but one in particular was granted to me by my English professor in college for an essay about my experiences with literature and writing, and my love for written word. I was also awarded with several awards throughout middle and high school, some being for most books read, others for written pieces, both fiction and non-fiction. I was also awarded a certificate for my knowledge of Roman and Greek mythologies and history, along with awards in American history and indigenous peoples' history.

I'm extremely excited to help anyone who reaches out to me! I can help with editing, writing, reading, comprehension, and anything else you might need help with. If I'm unfamiliar with a topic, I will be upfront, and I will do my best to learn with you and/or get you the resources and help from someone else.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope to see you in a tutoring session soon! :)

What I enjoy most about teaching is learning from my students and seeing them grow. I love the look of pride and satisfaction students get when they finally understand something, or the excitement they may have when learning new skills.

Frequently asked questions

When working with new students, I like to take a bit of time to get to know them and learn about what excites them and what they really don't like to do. I find this helpful when planning how to make something boring entertaining, but it also allows me to get to know the student better and allows me to tailor their learning specifically to them.

I am in my third year of college studying biology with a minor in English. I have also been tutoring kids since high school, be it kids I was in class with, or kids my little sister was in school with.

I do not have a standard pricing system! I actually like to set up a "pay what you can" system. I value learning and education, and I don't like the idea of denying a student the opportunity to get help and learn because of money issues.

I got started tutoring when I was in middle school. I would run tutoring clubs after school with other kids to help with English/lierature, history, math, and science. I continued this throughout high school, teaching fellow classmates and also teaching my little sister's classmates. I also helped a close family friend teach her preschoolers on occassion.

I have worked with kids in pre-K through senior year in high school.

My advice is to find someone you can work well with and trust. Not everyone's teaching style is the same, and you may not click with everyone, and that's okay! The best way to learn is by making sure you're comfortable and happy in your learning environment!

I think students should think about how they learn best and what works best for them. I also think a student should have an idea of topics they're struggling with or trying to understand. Doing this ensures that the teacher isn't teaching them something they already know and missing the real issues the student is dealing with.
