Ms. Grant's Remote Tutoring
About
I am a recent, two-time graduate of Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Mathematics. I have completed additional course work in Middle Level Education and Gifted Education and am able to provide math tutoring services for children at all levels. I am very passionate about finding ways to help students gain a deeper understanding of mathematics so that they know not only what they are doing but why they are doing it.
My favorite part about teaching is seeing that "ah-ha!" moment when a student finally understands a concept that they have been struggling with.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first review the content that they are learning before meeting with them. Upon our first meeting, I ask the student what they know and understand so far, and then I ask where they are confused. In starting by asking what they already know, my hope is to remind them that they do in fact know something to help boost their math confidence, and from there I try to pinpoint the disconnect between their prior knowledge and the topics that confuse them in order to bridge any gaps in their learning.
