As a therapist to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and over 5 years of experience working with children of all different ability levels, I am acutely prepared to alter lessons based on the child's needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to hear them read, try some math problems, etc., so I can see about what grade level they are on. Then, I talk to them about things they like. By doing this, I can find ways to motivate them. For example, if they need help reading, but don't like to, if I know what they're interested in, I can find reading material about what they would be interested in.
