Hi, I'm Shannon, and I'm here to help you achieve your test prep goals! I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in 2009 and from Brown University with a M.A. in Education Policy in 2014. I've been teaching and tutoring the SAT for over a decade, and have significant experience with the ACT and GRE as well. We have two options for structuring our tutoring time together, depending on your needs. Option 1: Crash Course - A general overview of the test structure, format, question types, and strategies. If you only have a couple of weeks before the test and you have limited experience with it, this is the option I’d recommend. You’ll g...

Verna and our son hit it off right away. They literally got to work within two minutes. Our son enjoys learning, and Verna has been a good fit. He has only had two sessions, but felt that both were beneficial and helped him to better grasp this difficult content.

I like Ryan because he is relatable. He is a good teacher but switches things up because he is still a young adult. I think hes able to teach me because hes still in touch with modern games and music. I find it fun even to learn from because its nice to be able to relate to a teaching figure. --- Kieran

Dr. Briel is a fantastic tutor. He was able to seamlessly weave the crucial elements of Greek grammar together with interesting, engaging readings. My goal with Greek tutoring was to begin to read Patristic sources in the original text, and so he introduced me to them via a wonderful text called "A Patristic Greek Reader," which selects passages of the Church Fathers and presents them with extensive notes and vocabulary. Dr. Briel was able to help me to navigate these notes and aid me in not just understanding the grammar, but in actually reading the text itself. Many of our meetings also contained extensive discussion about the content of the text, which brought the readings to life and sparked interest in further studies in Patristics. Our sessions initially took place in person, and then they transitioned to online and phone-call meetings due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Briel was flexible on all of the dates and in every format, and he was able to accommodate my somewhat erratic schedule. For those just starting Greek and those picking it up after some years, I heartily recommend him for your studies.
