About this tutor

I am a recent graduate from the University of Chicago where I studied Biochemistry and Chemistry and had the privilege of tutoring kids across the Chicagoland area in a variety of different subjects including Math, Science, English and French ! I am now pursuing a Masters in Biomedical Sciences at Brown University and am looking forward to continuing my work for kids who really need the help and could benefit from a personalized, one - on - one experience. These past few years of being a tutor have been some of the most rewarding ones of my life! Not only have I learned so much about myself in the process, but I've gotten some of the most amazing kids and have helped them as much as I could to realize their potential. Being a tutor, you really have to relate to your tutees in a way that makes them feel comfortable enough to trust you and it's really a humbling experience when these kids are able to put their trust in me. I am looking forward to building these relationships with my new tutees and cannot wait to meet you guys!

where do I start - not only is Estelle knowledgeable, she is caring and takes her time to explain things on my level. She never criticizes a wrong answer - she just takes the time to show me how to come up with the right one. I love her mannerism and professionalism. I will continuously use her because she is the BEST in the business. I encourage anyone else who is looking for a top notch tutor to do the same. I am super happy with the results and its ALL thanks to her! THANK YOU. you are a lifesaver

Estelle was very good at explaining concepts and helping to identify key areas to improve on. She was also really patient with my son while helping him get better grades. He loved her style and really enjoyed studying with her!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

For me, it is important to come into the first tutpring session really trying to get to know the tutee and assess what their needs are and the pace they are comfortable with. On top of that, I believe it is really important to make sure the tutee feels comfortable with asking questions and receiving help, though I know this can be a scary endeavor. In the end, I want to establish an open and honest environment for anyone I have the pleasure of tutoring!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$45-60/hour depending on the subject matter. First 15 minutes is free!

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with a variety of students of all different backgrounds, cultures and learning abilities, including those with ADHD and ADD.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently went to Boston and spent the whole day obsessing over how many dogs there are there! I love dogs and have two of my own, so it's really nice meeting others dogs and other dog-owners as well!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I think students should really think about what they're looking to get out of these tutoring sessions and not be afraid to ask any question. I am only here to help them and get them on the right track in whatever subject they are struggling in and want them to feel comfortable opening up to me about what subjects are giving them a hard time.
