If you told me when I was in school that some day I would be a math tutor, I would have told you that you were crazy.
Not that I didn't love teaching - I always did. But for most of my life, math was always my worst subject.
The thing is I didn't suddenly become a "math person." I just had a tutor who believed in me, and from that point on something clicked. I went from the bottom of my class to winning an award for best math student my senior year of high school, and am now a RI State Certified Math teacher.
For the 10+ years, I have been giving that same experience to students, bringing kids who thought "I just can't do it" from failing to getting A's. That has been one of the great joys of my life, and I hope I can have the chance to provide this self-belief to your child as well.
