Frequently asked questions

We first look to establish their goals with regards to their work, and areas where they hope to improve. During this process, we get to know each other. I want to understand where they are coming from on a more macro scale, and where they hope to be. This will help us explicitly establish what kind of tutor they want and I will adjust to whatever needs they have.

I have degrees in English and History from Loyola University Maryland and I am currently enrolled at Sarah Lawrence earning a Master's degree in Fiction.

I first got into tutoring when college classmates asked me to look over their papers. What began as favors for friends turned into a part time cottage industry, in which I helped fellow students in subjects ranging from English to History to Sociology, to Philosophy.

I have worked with students with a wide array of goals and skill levels, from young undergraduates trying to make it through an entry level college course, to full time writers and academics striving for publication and acceptance into prestigious graduate schools.

Always hire a teacher who behaves with respect and a radical openenness to your work and identity, who treats the process of learning as the exciting experience it is, and takes you and your work completely seriously, no matter the skill level.
