Math Tutor
About
I am a young, passionate, and creative guy who wants to make learning math as fun and meaningful as possible. I always try to make my students feel like they can ask me questions at any point, this should be enhancing your education and not feel like summer school.
There's a unique feeling when your student succeeds after your lessons, it makes me happy to see my students happy. Math can be a very stressful and daunting task for most students, so when I see them approach it confidently after we work together it's a win for both of us.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start by determining how well the student knows the basics of the material. I usually do this through problems I create or question from a textbook. After doing this, we will start improving on the topics/areas the student struggled in and work until they can apply their new knowledge to a different problem. Outside of just talking math, I want the student to feel comfortable asking questions, so I always try to get to know them first so that it doesn't feel like I'm just another tutor.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a Mathematics and Actuarial Science major at Seton Hill University. In high school, I took numerous AP math courses and performed very well in all of them. In addition, I scored a 700 on the math section of the SAT. I also have several years of tutoring experience working in the library during study hall and after school.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I usually charge $20-$30 an hour based on how far the student is from me and the difficulty of the subject.
How did you get started teaching?
Teaching is something I've been doing my whole life, it's something that comes naturally to me. After I started seeing great results from my students I realized this something I could do for a living.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of students. I've worked with several students on the autism spectrum, students with learning disabilities, and regular-ed students. I have an older brother with autism so I have had plenty of experience with all different types of learning disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There really hasn't been too much going on the past couple of months, but I recently performed in a virtual open mic with my brother and it was a blast.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who can make math fun! I've had a passion for math my whole life, but even I find myself dozing off when I'm faced with a boring teacher. I'd recommend someone who is passionate and understands what it's like to be a student in today's world.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Don't hold back! We are here to help you, so never hesitate to express your needs. The more open we are with each other the better we'll learn.
