Claire P. Accounting Tutoring
About
As a current student myself, I can explain what I've learned in the most straightforward and simple terms. I understand that the best way to approach problem solving is to outline required information, break the problem down into steps, and then solve steps individually. I can also provide study tips by subject or more practice problems for students who need or want it!
I have been a peer tutor for math, English, and economics as well as a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Financial Accounting. As an aspiring future Professor, I am committed to education and am passionate about curious learning.
Although I do not have any official tutoring credentials, I have received the following grades in college courses and can provide proof upon request:
Introduction to Financial Accounting: A
Introduction to Managerial Accounting: A
Introduction to Microeconomics: A
Introduction to Macroeconomics: A
Introduction to Finance: A+
Intermediate Financial Accounting: A+

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I ask that students email me with their questions ahead of the lesson so that I can prepare a customized session before we begin the session.
When working with a new student, I first like to get a feel for their learning style. Some students prefer to use notecards or resources like Quizlet, while some just keep repeating examples they have solved in class or from the textbook.
Once finding out their preferred way of learning, I help them identify the essential information, break the problem down into steps, then solve it step by step.
It is my belief that simply giving away answers is not conductive to the learning process, so I will not be able to help students unless an honest effort is made on their part.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a current senior accounting student and have been a peer tutor and Teaching Assistant.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
In an effort to make education and tutoring as affordable and accessible as possible, my minimum tutoring fee is $10 per half hour. This rate can change depending on difficulty of the lesson and time that it takes me to prepare.
