About
I feel I bring a unique approach to teaching and learning alongside my students. As a graduate student in mental health counseling, I will always take an interest in the health and well-being of my students. They should all feel safe and comfortable sharing aspects of their lives with me.
I love seeing when students' ideas "click," or when they get into a flow state of writing and reading voraciously.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process involves asking lots of QUESTIONS! If we are working on a college application essay, I will ask the student questions about their background, their passions, and their dreams. A college essay is all about exploring the self and sharing it with others.
If we are analyzing literature, I will encourage the student to mark up their text with any questions, concerns, and comments - use up a whole Post-It pad if you must! This will encourage active reading, and make analyzing and writing about a text much easier, as there will be "evidence" to reflect upon.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored third and sixth graders for three years in Hebrew and Jewish studies. During that time, I did intensive work with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I understand that every student learns differently, and there is only beauty in that. If information is out there, all it takes is someone explaining it the right way for it to be understood. Everyone can become a better learner!
