About
I am a recently retired teacher who has worked with students from K-12 in my 25 years in the suburban Philadelphia public schools. I love working with students of all ages, abilities, and interests and helping them develop as curious, confident, and successful learners. I would call myself the "fun Mom" type who truly gets joy from being around young people.
I have a BA and MA in Social Work and both Master's and Supervisory certificates from Arcadia University. I am certified K-6 in all subjects as well as Middle School ELA certified. I have years of experience with Gifted Support and in co-teaching Elementary Math and ELA. I taught organizational and study skills to 8th graders for 5 + years. I have special interests in History, popular Science, literature, and the Arts. I have strengths in helping students with reading comprehension and writing at all levels.
I am committed to developing students' autonomy as learners and believe they should be partners in setting goals for their academic growth. I have excellent people skills and can connect with students wherever they are academically.
I am flexible about in person/remote tutoring.
I look forward to working with you!
