About
I hold a Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Elementary Education for grades K-6. My clearances and background checks are clear and up-to-date. I can provide tutoring references for all subjects and age ranges upon request.
I have 10+ years of experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds. The last 7 years, I was a 6th grade Reading/Language Arts teacher for a suburban school in Philadelphia, PA area. I have been responsible for 125+ students each year, and have customized my lessons to differentiate for my students academic needs and personal interests. I have been responsible for helping students meet their IEP goals, and take personal and professional pride in watching my students grow and find success in the classroom.
The best part about being a teacher is watching my students overcome their biggest challenges. I enjoy being their champion and giving them the tools they need to reach their highest potential.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet a new student, I get to know their interests and what motivates them. I find out their strengths and struggles both inside and outside of the classroom. Building a relationship with my clients is an important part of the tutoring process.
When I know my students, I can begin to evaluate their academic, social or behavioral needs. This might be done with some practice work, or a leveled assessment that is appropriate for my student.
From there, I can analyze their performance and see how we can work together to create goals that meet their personal and academic needs.
After each session, I will send an email with what we accomplished, any work that was left to finish, and goals for next session.
