About
I have over 20 years tutoring experience, 7 of which have been online!
I believe everyone is different and there is no one-size-fits-all way of learning; I customize my sessions to try to help each person in the way that works best for them.
Although I am happy to help empower students in multiple subjects from English to nutritional biology to Italian, most of my experience is with middle and high school math. If you have a middle or high schooler who is struggling and feeling behind in their math classes, I would love to help! If they would like to explore a subject in more depth or get ahead, we can set up a session schedule that will help them maximize their potential!
I love seeing students thrive and every time they have an "aha!" moment when something clicks.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I am currently tutoring online via Talo or Zoom. If you're interested in setting up a session, we will discuss a time and exchange contact information so we can have a video meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from University of Texas at Arlington focusing in Biology and English. I started tutoring in college giving private saxophone lessons then came back to it a few years ago because I enjoyed it! I now have experience tutoring math from 1st grade through pre-calculus, English, social studies and government, high school and college science, and more!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically, a session is 45 to 60 minutes and my standard price is $35/session. Half hour sessions are $20.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring again when my sister-in-law needed help to prepare for challenging math classes at a new school, then later to set up and implement a science project for an entrance application. I really enjoyed being able to share knowledge and help her learn; after that, others were interested in having me teach them as well. I've been hooked ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly middle and high school students, but I have also worked with elementary schoolers and adults!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who cares about your success - if you're really stuggling, they'll put in the extra research to find better ways to help you!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
