I have most of my experience as a middle school math tutor, but have tutored from 1st grade through college level in subjects including math, reading/writing/grammar, the sciences, history, and on! I have also developed personalized "camps" surrounding unique subjects they are curious about like gardening, lab and outdoor science, food/nutrition, and even cryptography concepts!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I am currently tutoring online via Google Hangouts. If you're interested in setting up a session, we will discuss a time and exchange contact information so we can have a video meeting.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BA from University of Texas at Arlington focusing in Biology and English. I started tutoring in college giving private saxophone lessons then came back to it a few years ago because I enjoyed it! I now have experience tutoring math from 1st grade through college algebra, English, social studies, college science, and more!


Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Typically, a session is 1 hour and my standard price is $25/hr.

If you plan to do at least 5 hours of tutoring, I charge $100 for 5 hrs, saving you $5/hr.


How did you get started teaching?

I started tutoring again when my sister-in-law neeed help with her homework. I really enjoyed being able to share knowledge and watch her learn and then other were interested in having me teach them as well. I've been hooked ever since.


What types of students have you worked with?

Mostly middle school students, but I have also worked with elementary schoolers, high schoolers, and adults!


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find someone who cares about your success - if you're really stuggling, they'll put in the extra research to find better ways to help you!


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
